Muse: Your AI Agent
What it is
Muse is an AI assistant that works inside your terminal and your chat apps.
Unlike a chatbot that just answers questions, Muse does work: it reads
files, writes code, runs commands, searches the web, and builds things for you.
You describe the outcome; it figures out the steps.
Max runs Muse as his operator — it owns the full pipeline from idea to
deployed site. That's the model: you direct, Muse executes.
How to use it
Step 1: Install
Muse's command-line tool is published on npm:
npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code
(Verified 2026-09-19: package @anthropic-ai/claude-code exists on npm,
latest version 2.1.278. Requires Node.js 18+.)
Step 2: Start it
claude
The first run walks you through signing in. After that, you're talking to
your agent.
Step 3: Give it a task
Be specific about the outcome, not the steps:
- Vague: "fix my site"
- Good: "my login page crashes on phones — find the bug, fix it, and verify
the fix with a test"
Muse reads your project, makes the change, and shows you what it did.
Step 4: Useful patterns
Explore before changing. Ask "how does the login flow work here?" before
"change the login flow." You'll get better results and fewer surprises.
One job at a time. Big requests go better as a sequence: "first audit the
code, then propose fixes, then implement the top three."
Check its work. Ask it to run tests, show diffs, or explain what changed.
Trust, but verify — especially before anything touches production.
Step 5: Skills
Muse can learn reusable skills — step-by-step playbooks for things you do
often (deploying, invoicing, research). Once a skill exists, one sentence
triggers the whole workflow. This is how Max runs his operation: common work
becomes a skill, skills compound into a system.
What it's good at / not good at
Good at: writing and debugging code, research, writing, organizing
information, running multi-step workflows, learning your preferences.
Not good at: knowing things it hasn't been told (it can't see your
private data unless you connect it), making judgment calls about your
business, replacing your taste. You decide; it executes.
The value, plainly
You get leverage. One person with Muse does the work of a small team: the
research, the code, the docs, the testing. The skill isn't "using AI" — it's
learning to direct clearly. Clear direction in, real work out.
